Gatherly ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website gatherly.co.nz and use our services.

We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and take the security of your personal information seriously. By using Gatherly, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

We do not collect payment information. Gatherly does not currently require user accounts, and we do not store passwords.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

— Respond to enquiries and contact form submissions — Review and process business listing applications — Send newsletters and updates to subscribers who have opted in — Improve the functionality and content of our platform — Monitor and analyse site usage to enhance user experience — Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of the platform — Comply with legal obligations

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months. Business listing information is retained for as long as the listing remains active, plus 6 months after removal. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@gatherly.co.nz.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

8. Children's Privacy

Gatherly is a platform designed to help parents and caregivers discover events and activities for children. The platform itself is intended for use by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete that information from our records.

9. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
